About Reflect

Part of the role of an Approved Driving Instructor as defined by the DVSA, is to encourage pupils to evaluate their beliefs, attitudes and values in driving & Reflect upon them.

Engaging in the Reflective process promotes Self Change and nourishes the growth of Confidence.

Being able to stand back and see the bigger picture has many other positive benefits which may include –

Gaining control over thoughts and emotions, especially when confronted by new situations or temporary setbacks.

Developing deeper insights to make better informed judgements.

Gauging not only progress, but also the speed of change.

Tapping into and harnessing true motivations for doing something.

Establishing learning preferences.

Whilst the same destination is eventually reached, each journey is unique to the Client – a good Coach should also Reflect on the fact that their style of Coaching should be “bespoke, tailor made and fit (the Client) like a glove”.

“Whether we focus on problematic experiences or positive ones,
reflecting on them will provide us with opportunities for growth
and development.”

Bassot, The Reflective Journal
